5-Day Gorilla Tour | Trek Uganda & Rwanda Gorillas

This 5-day Uganda and Rwanda gorilla trekking safari lets you see endangered mountain gorillas in their natural homes. Start with a pick-up and transfer to Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda.

Trek gorillas and visit the Gorilla Guardians Village. Then transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda, crossing the border with scenic views.

Detailed 5-Day Uganda Rwanda Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Your safari driver will meet you at the airport and drive you to Volcanoes National Park. Depending on your arrival time, you may take a short tour of Kigali city.

Day 2: Volcanoes National Park – Gorilla trekking and Gorilla Guardians Village

Start early to trek the mountain gorillas. After the trek, visit the Gorilla Guardians Village for a guided cultural tour. There are over 10 habituated gorilla families in Volcanoes National Park, and you will be assigned to one for your trek. Enjoy the forest and watch some birds.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Uganda

After breakfast, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. This park, along with Mgahinga Gorilla National Park (next to Volcanoes), is home to mountain gorillas in Uganda.

You will cross the border into Uganda while enjoying a scenic drive with hills around.

Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Gorilla trekking & Batwa Community visit

Spend one hour with the gorillas in the forest. On the trek, look out for some special birds found only in the Albertine Rift. After the trek, visit the Batwa community for a cultural experience.
