Day 1: Kigali to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast at your hotel, your tour guide will pick you up and take you on a half-day tour of Kigali city, the capital of Rwanda. Visit places like the National Museum, Inema Art Center, Kigali Genocide Memorial, craft centers, and local markets.
Have your lunch and thereafter drive to Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas in Rwanda. You will take a guided cultural tour to the Gorilla Guardians Village before checking in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park – End of Safari
Have a very early breakfast and drive to the park head offices in Kinigi for a briefing about gorilla trekking and assignment to a gorilla family. You will join a group of 8 visitors led by a park ranger and escorted by another guide into the forest to trek the gorillas.
The activity can take about 2 to 6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas. You will be allowed a full hour to watch them go about their day. Return from the trek, drive back to your lodge for lunch, check out, and then embark on your journey back to Kigali for a drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
