Before you set off to Rwanda, you have to check whether the month of travel will meet your desire for adventure. In all, Rwanda is a small landlocked country with a comfortable climate, weather, and temperatures throughout the year.
It borders Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and citizens from these countries may not require many documents to enter Rwanda, as they are all part of the East African Community, just like Rwanda.
Note that there are temperature variations across the country, with the west and north generally colder than the lower-lying east. In the mountainous areas, which cover a large part of the country, temperatures range between 10°C and 15°C. In the capital city, Kigali, temperatures are stable throughout the year, favoring family, group, and solo safaris. Always make sure you have valid travel documents when coming to Rwanda for a smooth adventure.
Your soul will be lifted once you are in Rwanda, as it is one of the few countries that have managed to sustain green cover despite having a population of about 12.2 million people. It proudly hosts four national parks, which are home to wild animals, birds, plants, primates, and even humans who live and work around the park lands. Some locals are employed as guides, porters, waiters, and waitresses to help improve their standard of living.
The country welcomes a great number of tourists, from those seeking luxury experiences to those looking for camping adventures, which helps stimulate the country’s economy. National parks like Nyungwe and Akagera are open, and in December, you have a good chance of spotting gorillas and chimps easily, as they do not need to go deep into the forest to search for food.
Besides wildlife, Rwanda also showcases its historical museums, which are located both within and outside the capital city, giving you more chances to experience the country. You can also taste delicious meals served in beautiful scenic locations.
The deeper you go into the countryside, the more you get to understand Rwandese culture. It may leave you emotional as elders share stories of how they witnessed the loss of their loved ones during the hard times, but it will also enlighten you.
After the stories, dances and songs are performed to cheer you up as you wait for the second part of the story about life long ago.
Visit magical Rwanda this December for everlasting encounters.
