East African Tourist Visa | Uganda, Kenya & Rwanda Entry

The East African tourist visa is a special visa that lets visitors travel to Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda with just one visa. It can be used multiple times for tourism purposes only.

This visa does not allow work or activities unrelated to tourism. It is valid for 90 days, and you cannot renew it after it expires. You must leave the countries before the visa ends.

You can apply for the East African visa online through the immigration portal, which helps avoid delays. Some of the required documents include a copy of your passport with at least six months of validity, showing the bio-data page.

You also need to provide a recent passport-size photo and a vaccination card if you come from a country where yellow fever is common. A return ticket is required to prove you will go back to your home country. Finally, you must show your travel itinerary.

The visa costs 100 US dollars. This fee is not refundable if your application is rejected and may include bank charges.

All documents must be in English, which is the official language in these countries.

Here are the steps to apply online:

Log in to the immigration portal and select “Start New Application.”
Accept the terms and conditions shown.
Choose the visa or permit type, category, and subcategory.
Fill in all the required information until the form is complete.
Upload the needed documents. After this, you will get a six-digit reference number automatically.
Pay the application fee if required.
When approved, you will receive a letter by email.
Go to the immigration office for biometric capture. Bring all your uploaded documents, payment receipts, approval letter, and passport.

You should enter the country that issued your visa first. At the border, show your travel details and visa information.
