Niyo Art Gallery – Empowering Youth Through Art in Rwanda

Niyo Art Gallery is a small community where many young people share their dreams through painting, dancing, and music. The money they earn helps improve their lives.

This gallery was started by Niyonsenga Pacifique, a talented musician and artist who was once a street child. He began the gallery to support other street children by giving them access to education. Pacifique grew up on the streets but was able to get an education thanks to a Canadian helper named Bruno, who helped him on his way to success.

Thinking about his own background and experiences, Pacifique decided to build Niyo Art Gallery to help other children in similar situations. The gallery uses art as a way to fight poverty. Donations also help support the children by paying for their education and some basic needs.

The program even helps single mothers. More than 125 children take part in activities like entertaining visitors, playing musical instruments, and creating beautiful art pieces. These works are sold to buy food, medicine, and clothes for the children and their families.

Visitors can also try painting, which helps you be creative. For the children, it is a way to learn new skills and show Rwandan art, as well as art from other regions. The gallery welcomes Rwandan artists and people from other countries who love art. It offers space for 17 local artists to work, attracting many visitors who enjoy watching them paint.
