This short Rwanda Gorilla Trek is suitable for visitors who have limited time in Rwanda and would like to see the endangered mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park.
Day 1 – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park, Gorilla Trekking & Back in Kigali
Your tour driver-guide will pick you up very early in the morning from your hotel in Kigali city at around 4:30 or 5:00 am. You will set off to Musanze District, where Volcanoes National Park is located. In about 2 to 3 hours, you will arrive at the Kinigi offices in Volcanoes National Park for a briefing about gorilla trekking and assignment to a particular family or group of mountain gorillas that you will trek.
You will then be led by a park ranger into the forest of Volcanoes National Park. Follow the ranger’s guidance for an enjoyable and memorable experience. Once you find the mountain gorillas, you will spend one hour observing them and taking pictures (remember, no flash photography is allowed).
After the trek, your tour driver-guide will drive you back to Kigali and drop you off at your hotel.
